Son arrested in connection with stabbing mom on Christmas Eve on Long Island

MASSAPEQUA, Long Island (PIX11) – A man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing and killing his mother on Christmas Eve on Long Island, according to Nassau County police.

Jeremy Emmanuel Lopez Ramirez faces charges of second-degree murder in Massapequa in connection with the death of 57-year-old Josefina Ramirez Montero, police say.

Authorities tell PIX11 News the 27-year-old was the son of Montero.

Police found Montero unresponsive after she was stabbed multiple times on Christmas Eve. She was taken to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead. 

Ramirez is expected to be arraigned in court on Saturday.
