NEW DELHI: Former India batter
Ambati Rayudu
tickled his funny bone to take an indirect dig at Royal Challengers Bengaluru by sharing Chennai Super Kings' fifth IPL title celebration video on Instagram.
In the video, CSK players can be seen celebrating their fifth IPL trophy last year. Rayudu's act is seen as a response to RCB's exuberant celebration after eliminating CSK to secure a spot in the playoffs.
"Just a gentle reminder...," Rayudu captioned the video.
The former CSK batter also lashed out at RCB after their defeat against Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator on Wednesday saying aggressive celebrations don't win you trophies.
"If you talk about RCB today, it shows that only passion and aggressive celebrations don't win you trophies. You need to plan. You didn't get the IPL trophy just by reaching the playoffs. You have to play with the same hunger. Don't think you will win the IPL trophy just by beating CSK. You will have to come next year once again," Rayudu said on Star Sports.
Pointing out the franchise's issues, Rayudu stated that RCB lack confidence in their Indian players. He cited Virat Kohli as an example, noting that apart from the former India captain, no one else has consistently stepped up for the team.
"They need to show more faith in Indians, especially in Indian talent. I don't think in the past 16 years any Indian batter apart from Virat Kohli has scored more than 1000 runs, and Virat is at 8000. That shows that you don't have any confidence in Indian talent," he added.
