Small plane makes emergency landing on Cedar Beach: officials

LONG ISLAND (PIX11) -- A small airplane was forced to make an emergency landing on a Long Island beach on Wednesday evening, police said.

A single-engine Cessna 152 made an emergency landing after the 60-year-old pilot reported engine failure, police said.

The pilot made the emergency landing safely on Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai, N.Y., around 7:30 p.m., the FAA said.

The two passengers miraculously walked away unharmed, and the FAA is currently investigating the incident.
