Small NJ aftershock is the 46th since earthquake rocked tri-state area

NEW JERSEY (PIX11) -- A small aftershock in New Jersey Wednesday marks the 46th since a 4.8-magnitude earthquake rocked the tri-state area.

A 2.6-magnitude earthquake hit near Gladstone around 10:22 a.m., according to the United States Geological Survey. Just under 80 people reported feeling the quake with very light shaking, according to the USGS.

It's the 46th aftershock to hit the region since a larger earthquake rocked New Jersey and New York on Friday, according to the USGS. The chance of an aftershock over a magnitude of three is unlikely, according to the USGS.
