Small aftershock hits New Jersey after earthquake: USGS

NEW JERSEY (PIX11) - A small aftershock purportedly hit New Jersey late Sunday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The 2.2-magnitude quake hit around 11:35 a.m. and was centered near Lamington, according to the USGS. Only a handful of residents reported feeling the quake to the USGS, and only reported mild shaking.

The aftershock comes two days after a 4.8-magnitude earthquake hit the tri-state area. Since, the region has seen a number of aftershocks around 2.0-magnitude.
