BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A robber choked a 6-year-old girl before snatching gold chains off her and her older sister's neck in a Brooklyn apartment building last week, authorities said.

The suspect initially asked a 14-year-old girl to give him her gold necklace inside a building near Eastern Parkway and Ralph Avenue in Brownsville at around 3:15 p.m. on May 29, according to the NYPD. When the teen refused, the man choked her 6-year-old sister with one hand and ripped her chain off with the other, police said.
