4 months ago 40

Years after impressing the audience with her comic timing on

Comedy Circus

Ka Naya Daur,

Shweta Tiwari

is set to explore the comedy genre again with

Zakir Khan

’s show,

Aapka Apna Zakir

.
A source associated with the show tells us, “Shweta is the only female in an all-men cast, making her the show’s highlight. She will be the ‘IT girl’ -- a timeless beauty, glamourous, and a trendsetter.

The idea is for her to be herself on the show. Her presence is expected to add a fresh and dynamic element to the ensemble.”
As reported by us, Rithvik Dhanjani and Gopal Datt will also be a part of the show. Aapka Apna Zakir will mark comedian Zakir Khan’s debut as a television host. The show will feature several artistes playing various characters and the content will be a combination of laughter, shaayari, and zindagi ke nuskhe.

Shweta, who became a household name as Prerna in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, was last seen in Main Hoon Aparajita. In addition to participating in and winning Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur, the actress has been part of several reality shows, including Nach Baliye 2, Jjhoom India, Jalwa Four 2 Ka 1, Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6, and the 11th edition of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi. She was also the winner of the fourth season of

Bigg Boss. While talking to us about returning to the fiction genre with Main Hoon Aparajita after a gap of two years, Shweta, in a previous interview, had told us, “I have been offered several TV shows in recent times, but it’s a conscious effort to wait for a character that touches my heart. People assume that if Shweta Tiwari is not acting, she would possibly not be getting work. And when I decline an offer, they feel ek toh kaam nahi hai, oopar se akad itni hai ki mana kar rahi hai. They don’t understand that I have declined the offer because I don’t want to play characters that are not substantial.”
