Shots fired by police while trying to arrest man on Staten Island: NYPD

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) – Shots were fired by a police officer in Staten Island early Monday morning, according to the NYPD.

The shot rang out near 101 Daniel Low Terrace around 6:15 a.m., police said. The warrant squad was trying to arrest a man wanted for assault, according to authorities.

A police officer fired one shot with their firearm, the NYPD said. No one was struck and no injuries were reported, according to authorities.

The FDNY said one officer was taken to Richmond University Medical Center.

The man is in custody, police said.
