BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A sheep was found running loose in the streets of Brooklyn on Saturday, police said.

NYPD officers captured the sheep near 34th Street and Second Avenue after someone spotted it in a parking lot by the waterfront by the Costco around 1 p.m., police said.

Cops wrangled the sheep and put it in a trailer. The sheep was safely transported to Brooklyn Animal Control, police said.

“Not baaaaad for a group of cops with no experience shepherding a sheep,” the NYPD posted on social media.

It’s unclear where the sheep came from, but there are slaughterhouses in the area.

Skylands Animal Sanctuary and Rescue in New Jersey is now caring for the sheep.
