The superstar mentioned that, for the first time, he has embraced being '
age-honest
' in this project. SRK expressed his comfort with playing a character that aligns with his actual age and drew a comparison to his role in ‘
Jawan
.’
SRK admitted that at 58, he should do such age-centric characters.
He felt that he is ‘age-honest’ for the first time in ‘Dunki,’ and it is more close to his age. ‘Jawan,’ as a commercial movie, portrayed an over-the-top old person, but ‘Dunki’ is very real for him. He never thinks of it as a conscious choice, but he is ready to do such roles.
However, some people are not ready to cast him in aged roles because they want him to be seen as young. Rajkumar Hirani revealed that he used to write the story and then decide the actor, but this time he literally decided that he and SRK will do it together, whatever character comes out of the story.
