The CBI has filed a chargesheet in the rape and murder case of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata. India Today TV obtained exclusive access to the document, which outlines the evidence linking Sanjay Roy, the arrested accused, to the crime.

According to the chargesheet, forensic tests have confirmed the presence of Roy’s semen on the victim's body. An urethral swab taken from the victim was sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Kolkata for analysis, and results confirmed the semen belonged to Roy.

Additionally, forensic experts detected saliva on another swab taken from the victim’s private parts, which also matched Roy's DNA.

The CBI further highlighted that short hair collected from the crime scene on August 9, when the body was discovered, was also identified as belonging to Roy. These forensic findings have played a crucial role in the investigation, according to CBI officials.

Apart from this, a variety of items were seized by Kolkata police during the initial investigation, including the victim’s clothes, bedding, and other personal items, as well as blood samples from both the victim and Roy.

Electronic devices such as the victim’s laptop and mobile phone, along with Roy’s phone, were also examined by forensic labs in Kolkata, Delhi, and Chandigarh. All laboratories confirmed the findings initially made by Kolkata police within just five days of the incident.

The jeans and footwear worn by Roy at the time of the crime were also seized and sent for forensic analysis. Results confirmed that blood found on these items matched that of the victim.

Sanjay Roy was arrested within 24 hours after the body of the trainee doctor was discovered in the seminar hall of the RG Kar Hospital.
