THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) --- An MTA police officer gave up his lunch to save a dog who was stuck under a Metro-North train in the Bronx earlier this month.
MTA K9 Officers Christian Olivares, Dylan Doyce, and Darnell Lewis helped rescue the adorable golden-haired pup hiding under the train wheels on the tracks in Morris Heights, officials said.
After some unsuccessful cajoling, Doyce went to get Olivares' lunch from the cop car and used it to lure the dog out, according to the body-cam footage.
"Whoever's lunch this is, my bad," Olivares says in the video.
As the dog chows down, one of the cops puts a leash around the animal while the crew pulls him to safety. The officers and the happy dog are then seen heading back to the police car.
"Good boy," the cops tell the playful pup.
The dog was taken to a Bronx shelter.
