See it: Lightning strikes Empire State Building during storm

NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) -- Stunning photos show lightning striking the Empire State Building's antenna during a storm Wednesday night.

The photos were taken from Hoboken, New Jersey amid heavy downpours and thunder. The Empire State's X account shared the photo with a simple caption: "OUCH."

The Empire State Building's antenna is hit by lightning an average of 25 times a year, according to the building's site.
