See it: Emergency personnel respond to water main break in the Bronx

THE BRONX (PIX11) -- A major water main break was reported on Webster Avenue in the Bronx Monday night, according to the FDNY.

The public is being warned about traffic delays and urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes as emergency personnel continue conducting operations.

The Office of Emergency Management is checking surrounding properties for water infiltration, according to an OEM spokesperson.

The Department of Environmental Protection is on scene, investigating the infrastructure to isolate the source of the water condition.

The NYPD is enforcing street closures along Webster Avenue from East 204th Street to Bedford Park Boulevard.
