Prohibitory orders

under

CrPC Section 144

were imposed in Wadi town in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district following a scuffle during a Lord Ram idol procession, police said Tuesday.
The prohibitory orders - to remain in force until 6am on Jan 25 - have been issued as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward situations, said deputy commissioner Fauzia Tarannum.

To mark the consecration of Ram Lalla's idol in Ayodhya, the Ram Utsav Samiti had planned to take out a procession with a 15ft Lord Ram idol from Sewalal Mandir to Lakshminarayan Mandir in the town. However, the rally was stopped midway through after trouble arose. tnn
