Seal stranded on Coney Island rescued by member of NYC climate office

CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn (PIX11) – A seal was rescued after it was found stranded on Coney Island Wednesday, according to officials.

Elijah Hutchinson, a member of the NYC Mayor's Office of Climate and Environmental Justice, discovered the beached seal, Mayor Eric Adams said on X.

He called New York state's Department of Environmental Conservation to check out the seal.

After the animal was determined to be healthy, it was guided back into the water, officials said.
