The Seattle Seahawks' offseason continues this week, as the first of their nine Organized Team Activities (OTA) practices will begin on Tuesday. These practices are voluntary. What is not voluntary, however, will be Seattle's three-day minicamp at the end of June, which will start on the 17th and conclude on the 19th.
Here are the following dates for the Seahawks' OTA sessions:
- May 27th
- May 29th-30th
- June 2nd
- June 4th-5th
- June 9th
- June 11th-12th
While these are technically classified as voluntary, it's hard to imagine many members of the team won't be in attendance. I'm sure we will see quarterbacks Sam Darnold, Drew Lock and Jalen Milroe, as well as wide receiver Cooper Kupp. The Seahawks are undergoing several massive changes offensively by virtue of bringing in an entirely new offensive staff. Klint Kubiak is brand new in the Emerald City and it's going to take some time to install his system.
Now, it helps that Sam Darnold is familiar with Kubiak, as the two spent time together for one season in San Francisco. Still, Darnold will need time to re-familiarize himself with it, as well as develop further chemistry with Kupp, JSN, MVS, Jake Bobo and rookie receivers Tory Horton and Ricky White III.
Needless to say, the new Seahawks are going to need all the time they can get to be ready to go for Week 1 of the regular season.
