NEW DELHI: 'Chase your dreams, they do come true' - that's what master blaster Sachin Tendulkar said in front of a jam-packed Wankhede Stadium while bidding adieu to international cricket in 2013. That statement fits perfectly into the script of Mumbai cricketer
Sarfaraz Khan
who has put in the hard yards in domestic cricket to earn an India call-up.
The BCCI selection committee on Monday added Sarfaraz, left-arm spinner
Sourabh Kumar
, and all-rounder Washington Sundar to the squad for the second Test against England.
It is a maiden national call-up for Sarfaraz after a stellar domestic cricket show and more recently in the India A series against England Lions.
Sarfaraz was included in the squad after India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and batter KL Rahul were ruled out due to injuries. Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury while going for a quick single on Sunday while Rahul complained of pain in his right quadriceps.
After the maiden call-up, Sarfaraz, who scored 220 runs in 2 matches against England Lions at an average of ___, took to Instagram and shared a series of pictures.
Sarfaraz shared a heartwarming Instagram story featuring his father, as the motivational song ‘Badal Pe Paon Hain’ from the Bollywood film Chak De India plays in the background.
