Samsung's One UI 6 update affects displays of some Galaxy phones, here’s how

Samsung

has rolled out its Android 14-based OneUI 6 update for several Galaxy models. The South Korean tech giant has also introduced multiple new features and design improvements with the new software. However, it seems like the latest version of the Android skin also comes with a few bugs. The

One UI 6 update

reportedly doesn’t include burn-in protection for OLED screen devices.

This is causing a yellow colour tint on the screen on some Galaxy devices that are running the latest software.
How OneUI 6 is affecting Galaxy devices
According to a report by Sammobile, some Galaxy smartphone users have complained that the screen on their device started to appear yellowish (yellow tint) after installing the One UI 6.0 update. However, if you’re facing a similar issue, there’s no need to worry as the report notes that it is a software-related issue and not a hardware one.
What’s causing the issue

The report claims that the issue is due to a conflict between Android's built-in Night Light feature and Samsung's own Eye Comfort Shield feature. Some users were also able to resolve the issue by switching off network access to their phone and setting the time of the device to a daylight hour. This suggests that the issue is not related to hardware.

Samsung's technical support also informed users that a fix for the issue would likely arrive with a software patch within the next few days (which could be different for each phone model and country). Until a permanent fix arrives, users can also fix it by themselves using a method found by some Galaxy users.

The report also mentions a way for users to manually resolve the issue using a third-party launcher which is available on the Google

Play Store

. However, it is better to wait for Samsung to roll out a fix to solve this problem.
