Samsung
has started rolling out a major software
update
for its recently launched
Galaxy S24
lineup of flagship phones. The update brings much-needed upgrades to the
camera
and
display
, addressing key complaints from early adopters.
Update Now rolling out in India, Europe, and other regions
The update is hitting Galaxy S24 units across Europe, India, and the United States. It carries build number S92xBXXU1AXB5 and clocks in at around 675MB.
The firmware bundles the latest February 2024 security patch and promises improved stability and performance in addition to the camera and display tweaks.
The new “vividness” slider allows display colour adjustments
One of the biggest complaints about the Galaxy S24 series was the dull colour profile of the display out of the box. This update adds a new “Vividness” slider under the Vivid screen mode settings that lets users fine-tune the vibrancy of on-screen colours.
Improvements to camera
The update also brings some important improvements to the Galaxy S24 series' photographic capabilities. Samsung says it has enhanced the zoom functions, Portrait mode, low-light photography, and video recording performance through software optimizations.
The firmware update is rolling out over-the-air, meaning Galaxy S24 owners will get a notification to download and install it. Users who don’t want to wait can manually download the firmware from Samsung’s servers and flash it using a Windows PC.
