NEW DELHI: Kolkata Knight Riders opener

Phil Salt

on Monday got an unwanted record to his name when he got dismissed on the first ball of the match against Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk.
Salt thus became the fifth KKR batter to get out on the first ball of the match.
Salt was dismissed by

Tushar Deshpande

as he carved the pacer's back of length delivery outside off straight to Ravindra Jadeja at backward point as his KKR suffered an early blow.

Salt now joins the list comprising Brendon McCullum, Manoj Tiwary, Jacques Kallis and Joe Denly, who also got dismissed on the first ball of the match for KKR.

The dismissal also made Tushar only the third CSK bowler to take a wicket on the first ball of the game.
Lakshmipathy Balaji and Deepak Chahar are the other two CSK bowlers to bag a wicket first-ball.
Earlier, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and opted to bowl against KKR in Match 22.
While KKR went with an unchanged eleven, CSK were forced to make three changes.
Pacer Mustafizur Rahman got back in place of Mukesh Choudhary while Deepak Chahar missed out due to a niggle. Out of favour India all-rounder Shardul Thakur also returned to the mix along with lower-middle order power-hitter Sameer Rizvi.
