We are just a few days away from the end of 2023, and as the curtains are drawing the
cinematic clash
between the Shah Rukh Khna starrer ‘Dunki’ and Prabas’ ‘Salaar’ is getting all the attention.
It recently came into notice that team ‘Salaar’ made a bold move by pulling the film's release from prominent Southern venues, namely PVRINOX and Miraj Cinema. Meanwhile, in the North, concerns arose as theaters seemed to exhibit favoritism towards ‘Dunki’ when it came to screen allocations, prompting a debate on the fairness of the competition. The makers of Salaar, unswayed by an uneven battlefield, opted to step back, emphasizing their commitment to a fair play.
Accordion to Zoom report, CEO of Miraj Group
Amit Sharma
has expressed uncertainty about any grievances from Salaar's makers. He advocated for the exhibitor's autonomy in deciding the allocation of shows. He also urged that the decision of the exhibitors should not be judged, as they are well aware of their audience demographics.

In a counterpoint, Chaluve Gowda of Hombale Films, emphasized that Salaar would not grace the screens of PVR Inox and Miraj outlets in specific locations due to perceived unfair treatment. Gowda backed his decision of not showing ‘Salaar’ with respective national chains becuase he feels the movie has been deliberately sidelined in favor of Dunki in selected outlets.
Nevertheless, he was open to reconsider the release of the movie on selected outlet, with the exhibitors showed a change in their plans.
The final verdict on this clash in now out. According to Gowda, a resolution has been achieved with his firm call of not releasing Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ in both North and South with the selected outlet.
With this final verdict, ‘Salaar’ is all set to grace the theatres today, while ‘Dunki’ started to cast its spell since yesterday. The box office clash between the two mega star movies is something that has been keeping the cinephiles excited.
