'
Salaar Part 1
: Ceasefire', starring Prabhas, just wrapped up a successful run at the
box office
around the world, collecting an incredible 600 crores in gross earnings. The movie was a commercial success because of its action sequences and storyline, which connected with the audience.
Salaar
, though, just missed the chance to top the lifetime
collection
of
Prabhas
's iconic movie '
Baahubali
: The Beginning.'
Despite having the potential to easily surpass 200 crores in a solo run, 'Salaar's solo net collection was limited to 152 crores because of competition from Shah Ruk Khan's 'Dunki' at the Hindi box office.
Salaar's lifetime net collection at the box office in India was 407 crores, which is similar in gross to 480.26 crores. 'Salaar' was successful even though, given its budget, it wasn't a huge hit in India.
'Salaar' performed excellently internationally, adding a significant boost to its 600 crore global gross. But the movie was unable to top Prabhas's enormous hit, 'Baahubali: The Beginning', which took in an incredible 650 crores
worldwide
. 'Salaar's 615.26 crores and 'Baahubali's records are separated by about 35 crores gross.
'Baahubali' remains a turning point in Prabhas's career, which brought him unmatched success. 'Salaar' gave Prabhas a chance to break his record, but he missed it by the narrowest of margins. Prabhas reached levels never before achieved with the SS Rajamouli-directed Baahubali franchise, which solidified his place as an iconic actor in the Indian cinema industry.
Even though Salaar may not have achieved the legendary success of Baahubali, it definitely puts another film with massive success in Prabhas's acting career as well as a well-known celebrity worldwide.
Fans await the release of upcoming films, as Prabhas has quite a few interesting projects lined up for the future. He plays a key role in 'Kalki 2898 AD', 'The Raaj Saab', 'Spirit' and the sequel 'Salaar Part 2: Shouryanga Parvam'.
