Rohit Sharma smashes record 5th T20I century

stood tall and led the team's fightback from the front with a record fifth T20I century during the third and final match against Afghanistan in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
Rohit, who failed to open an account in the first two games, made a remarkable comeback to smash a hundred off 64 balls. He bailed India out from a precarious 22/4 with his superb knock.
Having made his return to T20Is after a hiatus of 14 months, Rohit went on to score his highest score (121 not out off 69 balls) in the shortest format.

It was his first century in all T20 cricket since January 2019.

He rebuilt the innings and then tore into the opposition attack as he hit 11 fours and eight sixes to go past his previous best of 118.
Rohit forged an unbeaten 190-run partnership with Rinku Singh (69* off 39) - highest stand for any wicket for India in T20Is - to power India to a massive total of 212/4.
It was raining sixes in the final five overs when India plundered 103 runs. Rohit and the left-handed Rinku smashed 36 off the final over, which included a six off a no-ball.

He also became the leading run getter as an Indian captain in the T20I history surpassing Virat Kohli's record of 1570 runs.
