Retired astronaut inspires kids at Intrepid Museum

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- It was Black History Month meets Kids Week at the Intrepid Museum.

Retired NASA astronaut Joanne Higginbotham was the third African-American woman to enter space.

The 59-year-old Chicago native spoke to hundreds about what it was like to fly aboard the space shuttle discovery.
