Rescued weeks apart, two elephants rewrite their stories in friendship

Two elephants named Pari and Lakshmi have become the centre of attention after a video of their rescue and recovery was shared by Wildlife SOS. The footage, which has since captured the hearts of many, showcases the remarkable journey of these gentle giants from a state of despair to one of hope and companionship.

Pari, an elephant whose plight was particularly distressing, had been subjected to severe neglect. Her condition upon rescue was alarming; she exhibited a compromised pace, a clear indication of being chained for long hours which led to permanent disability. Fortunately, the dedicated team at Wildlife SOS immediately began her treatment, providing her with proper nutrition, antibiotics, supplements, and treats to aid in her recovery.

Lakshmi's story is equally touching. Rescued just weeks apart from Pari, Lakshmi was also in a terrible state, with injuries so grave that they were among the worst the rescue team had ever encountered. Details of glass embedded in her legs paint a vivid picture of the suffering she endured before being saved.

The recent video highlights not just their physical healing but also the emotional bonds they've formed. Introduced to each other with caution, Pari and Lakshmi have developed a bond of friendship.
