Surjewala

, Karnataka Congress in-charge and the Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), clarified that the reports about issuing a show cause notice to the Public Works minister Satish Jarkiholi by the party high command were just a rumour and far from the truth.
He spoke to the media at the Belagavi Airport on Friday morning. “I don’t know who is spreading such lies,” he clarified.
Meanwhile, he said the issue of changing deputy CM DK Shivkumar from the post of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) was not under discussion.

Surjewala is in Belagavi to oversee the preparations for the national-level event ‘

Jai Bapu

,

Jai Ambedkar

,

Jai Samvidhan

’, which is scheduled in the city on January 21.

According to Surjewala, the top Congress leadership, including AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Opposition Leader in the Parliament Rahul Gandhi, MP Priyanka Gandhi, and party leadership across the country, will participate in the Belagavi rally.
“‘Jai Bapu, Jai Ambedkar, Jai Samvidhan’ rally is a need of the hour to fight the fascist forces like BJP who are crushing the constitutional rights of the people. The voice raised from Belagavi on January 21 will give a new direction to the country,” Randeep Surjewala said.
He added that 100 years ago, Mahatma Gandhi gave a call to the people of the country to fight against the British for independence from Belagavi. Now, after 100 years, it is time to call for a fight against fascist forces like BJP. The Belagavi rally will be historical in that sense, he said.
Surjewala further said the next ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Ambedkar, Jai Samvidhan’ rally will be held at Mau, Madhya Pradesh, the birthplace of Babasaheb Ambedkar. “The Union Home Minister Amit Shah insulted Babasaheb Ambedkar in the Parliament on December 17, 2024. He also teased those who follow and respect Ambedkar.
