NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Temperatures will hit the low to mid-90s in the tri-state area Sunday, but humidity will make the air feel like 100 degrees.
Skies will be partly to mostly sunny, although there is a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm Sunday.
The heat and humidity to stay in place for the next several days. Afternoon highs are forecasted to reach the mid to upper 90s Monday, while Tuesday and Wednesday will see temperatures closer to 100 degrees.
In addition, humidity levels will remain on the high side, making the temperature feel much hotter, like 105 to 115 degrees at times. During this time of extreme heat, officials advice finding an air-conditioned location, staying hydrated and avoiding strenuous outdoor activity.
By Thursday, the heat will break.
