12 Pro 5G and the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G smartphones, was launched in India in January. The Chinese smartphone maker is now set to launch the Realme 12 series in the country. The upcoming lineup will also include two smartphones --
Realme 12 5G
and the Realme 12+ 5G models. The
Realme 12 5G series
is set to launch tomorrow (March 6) at 12 pm and the company has been teasing both smartphones on social media platform X (previously Twitter).
The X posts have revealed some of the key highlights of the upcoming Realme 12 series models.
One of the X posts has confirmed that the vanilla
Realme 12 5G
model will be the first phone to come with a new “Dynamic Button”. This button will act like the Action Button which was introduced with the latest
iPhone 15 Pro
and iPhone 15 Pro Max models. With this button, Realme 12 5G users will be able to control seven different functions, the company claimed. However, the X post didn’t confirm if the
Dynamic Button
will be available in the Realme 12+ 5G model.
Realme 12 5G series: What we know so far
The Realme 12 5G series is already available for pre-order. These new smartphones can be pre-ordered at Rs 1. Customers who pre-orders these phones can also avail benefits worth Rs 3,000. Realme has also added a microsite to its official India website for both phones.
Realme is yet to announce the price of the smartphone officially. However, the smartphone series is expected to be placed in the sub-25,000 price segment.
The company also claims that the Realme 12+ 5G smartphone will be the first model in this price segment to come equipped with a
Sony
LYT-600 OIS enabled sensor and a 112-degree ultra-wide angle lens. Meanwhile the vanilla Realme 12 5G model may feature an 108MP 3x zoom portrait camera.
The Realme 12+ 5G smartphone will also sport a vegan leather back panel, a quad-speaker setup and a 120Hz AMOLED display that will support the
Rainwater Smart Touch
feature. With this feature, the smartphone’s display promises to offer an improved performance even when it's wet.
Realme 12+ 5G model will come powered by the
MediaTek Dimensity
7050 5G chipset and will be backed by a VC cooling system. The smartphone will also pack a 5,000mAh battery that will support 67W fast charging. The smartphone is also expected to run Android 14 out-of-the-box.
The Realme 12 5G is expected to be available in two colours -- Green and Purple. Meanwhile, the Realme 12+ 5G smartphones are likely to arrive in two options -- Green and Beige.
