WARNING: Some of the license plates the New York DMV rejected in 2023 contain inappropriate and offensive language.
NEW YORK (PIX11) – The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles rejected thousands of requests for personalized license plates in 2023.
Personalized license plates come with certain restrictions, and each request for one is screened by the state before it is approved or rejected.
Personalized license plates cannot include combinations that are obscene, derogatory or offensive, among other restrictions listed on the New York DMV website.
“SIDECHIX,” “BDYBAG,” “NARCO1,” and “BOOOOGER,” are just a few of the rejected personalized plate requests last year. Many others are much more crude.
