It was earlier reported that Nitesh Tiwari's adaptation of 'Ramayana' has started filming. The shoot commenced with secondary artists. Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram, is yet to join the crew. Sources informed IndiaToday.in that Ranbir will join the crew in the next few days. Tiwari and his team did a small pooja ceremony on the set before the shoot to take blessings for the cast and crew. Sai Pallavi will play Sita in the film.

Ranbir is geared to play the role of a lifetime and has been spending hours reading dialogues and sending videos to Tiwari. Sources added that the mounting of the film is on a massive scale and the VFX and special effects will be on an international level.

Ranbir was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal'. It also featured Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri in key roles. Besides 'Ramayana', Ranbir also has 'Love and War' with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The film is touted to release in 2025.
