NEW YORK (PIX11) – The lingering low-pressure system is finally circulating away to the northeast on Saturday, making way for lots of sunshine but colder temperatures.

Highs are expected to fall just short of 50 degrees, but it will feel colder with a wind chill lowering to around 35 degrees Saturday night. Winds can gust up to 35mph.

NYC forecast and PIX11's Weather Center

The start of Sunday will feel much the same with gusts up to 25mph and an early wind chill of 33 degrees. We will remain under partly cloudy skies.

Monday is expected to remain dry and be milder to begin the holiday week. Highs will be in the upper 50s.

By Tuesday, it will feel even warmer with temperatures near 60 as a southwest wind becomes predominant. A morning shower is possible before a gradual clearing.

Wednesday is expected to be much colder with highs only in the mid-40s as strong winds shift to the north ahead of a low-pressure system.

There will be increasing clouds on Thanksgiving with high winds; however, rain should hold off until the afternoon. Friday, there is a drop in temperature with a wintry mix possible.
