NEW YORK (PIX11) -- After experiencing a summer preview on Saturday, New Yorkers will see temperatures drop back to seasonable levels as winds switch over to an east to northeast direction.
Afternoon highs are only expected to reach the upper 40s to low 50s on Sunday. Many areas will be stuck under the clouds for most of the day, although a peek of sun is possible. A stray shower may develop as well.
Look for the Spring warmth to return tomorrow. Winds will flip over to a south/southwest direction and raise temperatures into the 60s and 70s.
In addition, a front is expected to move through the area late in the day. Because of that, a shower or thunderstorm could develop during the evening hours.
Skies will then brighten on Tuesday a high pressure slides in from the Great Lakes. Afternoon highs will be in the 50s. Look for colder conditions on Wednesday.
