Queens man arrested after stabbing 2 people in subway: NYPD

NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) -- Police have arrested a man who allegedly stabbed two people inside the New York City subway system, a day after a random stabbing spree in Queens.

Authorities report that on Wednesday at 6 a.m., the suspect allegedly stabbed a 42-year-old man on the D train in Manhattan. The victim was stabbed in the right shoulder before the suspect fled the 59th Street-Columbus Circle station, according to the NYPD.

A little over an hour later, at 7:30 a.m., the same suspect stabbed a 19-year-old boy on the No. 2 train in the Bronx, authorities said. The victim was stabbed in the left arm unprovoked while on the train.

Police apprehended the suspect Thursday morning while investigating an incident on the subway platform at the Bedford Park station. The suspect allegedly has multiple arrests including five arrests in the past year.
