, in Baner at 7am and 10am Sunday, had to return from the gates as nobody responded to their repeated call.
SP (Pune rural) Pankaj Deshmukh told TOI, "We wanted to question
Manorama Khedkar
regarding the rioting and threatening case registered by police following complaint by a farmer in Mulshi taluka." The case was registered after a June 5, 2023, video surfaced in which Manorama, accompanied by private bouncers, was seen waving a pistol during an argument with some farmers over land ownership.
On Saturday, police recorded statements of witnesses and carried out spot panchnama. At 7am Sunday, officials reached Manorama's bungalow.
On not getting any response from inside the bungalow, police team pasted the notice on the gates and returned. The notice, addressed to Manorama, mentions details of the case and refers to violation of terms of license in wake of misuse of the firearm. It further directs Manorama to reply to the notice within 10 days, failing which the firearm license shall be cancelled.
