MADHU CHOPRA ON BECOMING A GRANDMOTHER
Priyanka Chopra, who married Nick Jonas in 2018, welcomed their first child in January 2022, via surrogacy. The couple named the baby girl Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. Now, in an exclusive chat with India Today.in, her mother, Madhu Chopra, spoke about being a grandmother, and how her daughter balances work and personal life.
When asked Madhu how Priyanka is handling being a first-time mother, Madhu said, "She’s fearless and isn’t scared of anything. She's giving her baby a lot of freedom to be her own person. And once I told her not to ever skew the word no. Explain to her, she'll understand. Don't just say no. That's the one advice I have shared with her."
Madhu exclaimed that being a grandmother to Malti is the most exciting role at the moment. “I just enjoy having the baby in my arms, I have actually forgotten that I have kids of my own."
MADHU SAYS PRIYANKA IS A 'SUPERWOMAN'
When asked to use three adjectives to describe Priyanka as a mother, Madhu Chopra replied, "She is just an absolute superwoman!" She further spoke about one thing that she would change about the way she raised Priyanka. She said, "I wouldn’t have sent her to the boarding school. I still cry when I think about it and I still feel guilty. My fault was that I sent her to a boarding school. Not the best decision of my life."
Meanwhile, work-wise, Priyanka Chopra was last seen in the movie, 'Love Again' and the Prime Video series, 'Citadel', where she shared screen space with Richard Madden. She was also set to appear in Farhan Akhtar's 'Jee Le Zaraa', but so far nothing concrete has been confirmed by the makers yet.
