Priya Dutt remembers Nargis-Sunil Dutt on Valentine's Day: 'They loved fiercely'

Priya Dutt, daughter of legendary Bollywood stars Nargis and Sunil Dutt, shared a heartfelt tribute to her parents on Valentine's Day. She provided an insight into their extraordinary love story through an Instagram post. Priya described the bond between her parents as a 'story of devotion, destiny and love'.

Priya then went on and likened their love story to a fairy tale, and wrote that it continues to resonate with many even today. She highlighted her father's unwavering support during her mother's illness, and their mutual respect and love despite life's trials.

She wrote, "As a little girl when I peeped into the world of love was through the extraordinary connection shared by my parents. Their love wasn’t just a story; it was the very essence of who they were to me. Their story felt like, it was taken out from the pages of a fairy tale, where a small-town boy was enchanted by the charm of a movie star; a match unforeseen, yet destined by fate (sic)."

Priya then added, "They loved fiercely and lived wholeheartedly, embracing each other’s flaws and strengths. They weren’t just lovers; they were confidants, allies, and companions, teaching me that love goes beyond mere romance; it’s a friendship, a bond that endures and I believe it does for their love really did, it still does (sic)." She also mentioned how they found true love despite differences. "Despite their differences, their love flourished. It’s from witnessing their love that I’ve come to understand the phenomenon in its purest form; imbued with sincerity, commitment, and dedication (sic)," she wrote.

Priya concluded the post saying, "So, on this Valentine’s Day, I extend to all the warmth of my heart, inspired by the love that continues to shape me, hoping that it touches you as deeply as it has touched me (sic)."

In her tribute, Priya also referenced Kishwer Desai's biography, 'Darlingji: The True Love Story of Nargis and Sunil Dutt', which explores Nargis's internal struggles and the deep connection that developed between the couple during a fire accident on the sets of 'Mother India'.
