Police officers pursuit car with mismatched plates throughout Manhattan: NYPD

CHELSEA, Manhattan (PIX11) – A man is wanted and a woman is in custody after police pursued a car with mismatched plates throughout Manhattan late Wednesday, according to the NYPD.

Police attempted to pull over a gray Audi four-door sedan near 25th Street and 9th Avenue in Chelsea around 10:52 p.m., according to authorities. The car took off instead, leading officers down past the Meatpacking District and then back uptown, police said.

The car eventually stopped in Rockefeller Center. The driver took off on foot, while the passenger was taken into custody, according to authorities.

The driver was described as a man around 6'2" last seen wearing a purple hoodie and black pants.

Police are trying to figure out if the car was stolen.
