Police ID teen, 16, shot to death in SoHo

SOHO, Manhattan (PIX11) – Police have identified the 16-year-old teenager who was fatally shot in SoHo on Tuesday.

Mahki Brown, from East Flatbush, was shot during a fight between two groups of students after school was dismissed for the day, according to the NYPD.

Brown was shot in the head and leg and later died at the hospital, police said. Two teenagers were seen fleeing the scene on bicycles, witnesses told PIX11 News.

One of the teenagers, believed to be the shooter, rode off on a Cikibike, witnesses said.

The alleyway where Brown was shot is directly across the street from the Chelsea Career and Technical Education High School, but police haven't confirmed if he attended school there.

Detectives have been reviewing surveillance video from nearby buildings, including The Dominick Hotel, according to authorities.
