Police fatally shoot man who stabbed wife in Queens: NYPD

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) -- NYPD officers fatally shot a man who stabbed his wife in Queens Friday evening, police said.

The shooting happened at 99-44 62nd Ave. in Rego Park just minutes before 7 p.m., according to the NYPD. Citizen app video showed a large police presence outside an apartment building.

Authorities said the son of the man and woman involved in the domestic dispute called 911. Police responded to the scene and asked the husband to drop a knife, according to authorities.

Police tried to Tase the man and then shot him, authorities said. The man was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
