QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – A police cruiser caught on fire in Queens after a pursuit of a car late Monday, according to authorities.
The pursuit began in the area of Belt Parkway and Erskine Street in Brooklyn, police said. Officers attempted to stop a white BMW with Florida plates for a traffic infraction, according to authorities.
Officers followed the BMW to the Belt Parkway and Farmers Boulevard in Queens, police said. A police cruiser following the car crashed into a pole and caught fire during the pursuit, according to authorities.
The car was able to evade officers, police said. No injuries were reported.
