Poco
is gearing up to launch India’s most affordable
5G
smartphones and for that, it is collaborating with Airtel,
Poco India
head has said. He also announced that the company is again partnering with
Airtel
for the phone.
“‘POCO X Airtel' another partnership! Coming soon!,”
Himanshu Tandon
said in an initial post on X (Twitter). He then clarified that the partnership will not be for the existing line-up but for an upcoming device which will be the “most affordable 5G ever to be launched in India”.
“Special Airtel variant at most affordable price ever. Making it the most affordable 5G device in the market,” he said in a separate post.
When a user asked Tandon whether it would be the Airtel edition of Poco M6 5G, he replied "true".
It is to be noted that Poco released an Airtel-exclusive variant of the Poco C51 last year and it came with an Airtel Prepaid connection as well as some exclusive benefits from the telecom giant. As per the company’s website, Poco M6 5G is the company’s only 5G phone that is priced under Rs 10,000 and comes with Airtel benefits.
There is no further information on what will change or how the company will launch this “Special Airtel” version.
