, which is a popular performance-enhancing drug. According to the recent statement released by the MLB, Alvarado has been barred from 80 games without any payout for violating the drug policies of the apex organization. Therefore, the suspension has been effective immediately. Reportedly, Alvarado is not eligible for the postseason this year. The official handle of Fox Sports: MLB posted on X- “Phillies pitcher Jose Alvarado is receiving an 80-game suspension without pay after testing positive for exogenous testosterone. He will be ineligible for the postseason this season if the Phillies reach the playoffs.”
The Philadelphia Phillies also issued a statement with respect to the careless act of their pitcher Jose Alvarado, which mentioned"The Phillies fully support Major League Baseball's Joint Prevention and Treatment Program and are disappointed to hear today's news of Jose's violation."
According to the agreement, Jose Alvarado is in the last year of his $22 million contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. The deal even has an option of holding a team option around $9 million for the 2026 MLB season.
