Person struck by train in Queens, subway service to Manhattan and Brooklyn delayed: MTA

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- A person was struck by a subway train at the Hillside Avenue and 169 Street station in Queens on Saturday, according to the MTA.

As a result, F trains are severely delayed in both directions, especially southbound trains. MTA officials said there is no F train service between Briarwood and Jamaica Street.

Transit officials recommend that riders who need service between Queens and Manhattan take the E, N, R, and No. 7 Trains. For service along Sixth Avenue, riders should take the D train. Officials recommend that customers take the A and C Trains between Manhattan and Brooklyn. Transit officials said to utilize the G train for service between Bergen Street and Church Avenue.

Officials are urging customers to take the Q trains for service between Church Avenue and Coney Island—Stillwell Avenue.
