Person struck by train at Grand Central–42nd Street station: officials

NEW YORK (PIX11) - A person was struck by a train at the Grand Central–42nd Street station in Manhattan, causing severe delays, according to the MTA.

The incident happened around 2:50 p.m., according to the FDNY. The person was taken to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition, officials said.

Nos. 4, 5, and 6 trains are running with severe delays in both directions. No. 2 trains are also running with delays in both directions after they shared tracks with rerouted No. 5 trains due to the incident, the MTA said.

MTA officials are recommending riders utilize the M125 bus line for service between Manhattan and the Bronx.

For No. 4 service in the Bronx, MTA officials recommend riders take nearby B and D trains.
