BRONX ZOO, The Bronx (PIX11) – A peacock still hasn't returned to the Bronx Zoo after seven were spotted outside of the facility on Monday, according to officials.

The birds were seen hanging out next to a roadway, a video from Citizen App showed.

The peacocks are free-roaming and occasionally stray from the zoo, a spokesperson told PIX11 News. If you come across them outside of zoo grounds, it's best not to touch them and leave them be, the spokesperson said.

There are around 100 free-roaming peacocks at the zoo, according to officials.

Another free-roaming peacock, named Raul, wandered outside of the zoo last year. The bird perched itself in a tree before returning to the zoo, according to officials.

The peacock had also bitten a man who was trying to help corral it, according to witnesses.
