PBKS vs RCB: Maxwell, Rabada out for do-or-die clash in Dharamsala

1 week ago 4

RCB has decided to leave out Glenn Maxwell for their do-or-die clash against PBKS, while Punjab decided to bench Kagiso Rabada in the match in Dharamsala. Maxwell has been struggling to find form throughout the IPL 2024 season while Rabada has been the third-highest wicket-taker for Punjab in the ongoing campaign.

Maxwell had taken a mental break during the early part of the season and had recently returned to the lineup for the match against GT on April 28. However, the Aussie all-rounder has failed to impress once again as he scored 4 off 3 balls in the recent game against GT in Bengaluru. Following this effort, Parthiv Patel called Maxwell the most overrated player in the history of IPL in an explosive tweet.

Maxwell has scored just 36 runs in 8 matches so far in the IPL 2024 campaign. The match is a must-win for both sides as the loser will be knocked out from the playoffs race.

PBKS vs RCB: Live Updates

Rabada has 11 wickets to his name at an average over 33. PBKS had won the toss on the day and opted to bowl first in Dharamsala. Punjab decided to bring back Liam Livingstone into the line-up. Vishwath Kaverappa will be making his debut for PBKS as well.

They have also decided to give the wicketkeeping gloves to Jonny Bairstow for the game as Jitesh Sharma was demoted to the impact subs bench. Jitesh has struggled with the bat this season.

RCB have brought in Lockie Ferguson for the game in place of Maxwell and haven't hindered a lot with their winning combination. One of Vijaykumar Vyshak, Yash Dayal or Mayank Dagar could come in as the impact sub for RCB in the second innings.
