DUMBO, Brooklyn (PIX11) – A famed New York City eatery known for its pastrami sandwiches will be opening a new location in Brooklyn, according to Time Out.
Pastrami Queen, the revered Jewish delicatessen, will open on Thursday at Brooklyn’s Time Out Market New York at 55 Water St in DUMBO. The sandwich shop currently has locations on Lexington Avenue, West 72nd Street and at the Moynihan Food Hall in Manhattan.
A favorite for many, including the late chef Anthony Bourdain, Pastrami Queen has been serving up sandwiches since 1956.
“Pastrami Queen is a really good pastrami sandwich — if not the best, among the very best,” Bourdain once said. “[It is] the real deal pastrami sandwich.”
Served on fresh rye bread with a side of pickles and deli mustard, this New York classic’s recipe has been made the same since it first hit the pallet of New Yorkers.
"The pastrami is first brined, then seasoned, dried, and smoked, resulting in juicy, crumbly, and fiendishly good sandwiches," the restaurant website advertises.
Not a fan of pastrami? Don't fret. Burgers, egg salad, chicken soup, and knishes are also on the menu.
