Part of Brooklyn building collapses into parking lot: officials

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn (PIX11) – Part of a building in Brooklyn collapsed into a parking lot on Monday, authorities said.

A section of the parapet wall collapsed at a one-story building at 54 Walworth St. in Bedford–Stuyvesant around 11:15 a.m., according to the New York City Department of Buildings.

A 4-foot-high piece of concrete masonry from the parapet wall collapsed into the adjacent parking lot, authorities said. No injuries were reported.

The building is used as a storage facility for dairy distribution, according to authorities.

The cause of the collapse was under investigation.
