NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians skipper
Hardik Pandya
has been slapped with a fine of Rs 24 lakh due to his team's second slow over-rate infringement in the Indian Premier League clash against Lucknow Super Giants.
The match, held at the Ekana Stadium, saw MI succumb to a four-wicket defeat.
The IPL issued a statement, stating, "Mr. Hardik Pandya, Captain of Mumbai Indians, has been penalized for his team's tardy over-rate during Match 48 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Lucknow Super Giants on April 30, 2024."
"Given that this was the second such offense by Pandya's team this season under the IPL's Code of Conduct regarding minimum over-rate violations, he was fined INR 24 Lac."
The remaining members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, faced fines of either INR 6 Lac or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever was lower.
